About the Author
Jonna Shutowick writes historical fiction with a special focus on the historical reclamation of women’s voices that have long been overlooked. Her current work-in-progress tells the story of Ida Alice Shourds Flagler, the forgotten second wife of Gilded Age industrialist Henry Flagler, exploring themes of power, silencing, and redemption.
A retired history teacher, Jonna draws on decades in the classroom to bring depth, empathy, and historical context to her storytelling. Based in Parkland, Florida, Jonna writes the monthly column On the Bright Side for her local newspaper, The Happy Herald.
